Alison Jennings MSc, MCIPD

Alison's work over recent years has been concerned with driving organisational development and system leadership in the NHS.

As an experienced leadership professional in the NHS, Alison is staunchly committed to the principle that higher standards of organisational and personal leadership deliverer higher quality patient care. She strongly believes that helping leaders to develop keen personal insight into their own talents and leadership styles is key to driving changes in behaviour. She is passionate about improving the quality of the conversations which are difficult at work but ultimately vital to an organisation's effective functioning.

Ali has recently led the work of the Local Leadership Academy National Talent Management Network and will be part of the team establishing the South East Regional Talent Review Board. As a coaching supervisor, accredited coach and mentor trainer, Ali invests her strengths in these areas to develop others.

Ali has been a part of the NHS Leadership Academy since its inception in 2013 and was a member of Strategic Health Authority leadership teams before and so has a long-standing understanding of the shifting leadership landscape in health and care.

As a facilitator of 360 degree and psychometric feedback, Alison works with organisations, teams and professionals in many different areas to enhance their strengths and improve their influence and impact.

As a coaching supervisor, accredited coach and mentor trainer, Alison invests her strengths in these areas to develop others.

More recently Alison has been a visiting lecturer on Leadership at the University of Southampton.

Alison is the TVWLA lead contact for organisations in the Thames Valley area and is working with a number of these organisations as an internal consultant to support wider system leadership development and collaboration. Alison is also the lead for Talent Management for TVWLA and is working with a number of providers to develop a shared approach to Talent Management to support our work in developing a values-based employment experience for all NHS staff in the Thames Valley and Wessex area.

Maggie has been a part of the NHS Leadership Academy since its inception in 2013, with a clinical background she is keen to ensure leadership development for all, but with a particular passion for developing future clinical leaders. Maggie has been involved with developing innovative leadership programmes, in partnership with citizens and also locally focused placed-based programmes.

Maggie is an experienced executive coach, a team coach and a facilitator.  What motivates Maggie is the outcomes and the impact of the leadership and OD interventions that she facilitates, which make a difference to our people and therefore ultimately to the communities that we serve.

Maggie has been responsible for the development of unique and innovative development programmes for example a national leadership programme with Health and Social care leaders , a practice manager’s leadership programme and has contributed to the development and design of the national leadership programmes for nurses. Maggie is also lead for the Thames Valley and Wessex coaching strategy.

Maggie has worked with and for some exceptional teams and leaders, seeing the difference that these people have made to patients and carers experiences have made Maggie committed to identifying and developing all staff.

Avril is experienced in NHS leadership development programme management.  With a background in a global healthcare organisation, managing logistics and customer service, Avril has experience of working in European and global teams. 
Avril passionate about the evaluation of our work and it's longer-term impact to support the improvement of patient care.
Avril is an MTBI Step I Practitioner and mentor.

Samia has a background in leading large complex projects with big budgets in the private and public sector. Samia was the inclusion lead, this involved working in partnership with organisations, creating more diverse and inclusive cultures for all by breaking down barriers. Samia leads on talent management, coaching and mentoring, HLM and MBTI. Samia is hugely passionate about developing others and is a qualified HLM 360 facilitator and Mentor.

Marion Lynch

Marion leads on ‘patient leadership’ and  runs learning sets for integrated locality teams.

Patient leadership is focussed on building a new relationships between the NHS and people and communities. The Patient leadership takes an asset based approach to empowerment, to identity what keeps people well and spread best practise.

By changing the methods used to develop patient leadership Marion has helped create a new language for patient leadership, a new approach to co production and new understanding of what keeps people well.

Marion also works with the acclaimed Human Story Theatre to bring a new way of raising issues about health directly into the heart of communities. 

Marion has a doctorate in education and has designed and delivered education programmes across the NHS. She originally trained as a General and Psychiatric Nurse before moving into Public Health and then Health Service management.

Marion also works as Associate GP Dean and Academic Lead with Oxford Deanery GP School and Assistant Director at Thames Valley Area Team NHS England.

Pete joined Norwich Union after university, working there for 14 years. After running his own company, briefly, he moved into School Business Management, with responsibilities for Finance, Admin, Site Management, etc.

In 2015, Pete moved to Southampton, joining the NHS in 2017. The following year he transferred to TVWLA to provide high level support for Finance, Governance and Business Management.

Mark joined the team in February 2018, having lived more than a quarter of his life in Asia where he worked initially as an English language teacher and more recently as a senior consultant with a multinational HR  consultancy firm specialising in psychometrics. His work involved managing both hiring and development projects, helping assess an individual's potential job-fit as well as behavioural-based coaching to name just a few. He found the work really interesting and decided to start his CIPD level 5 in HRM to help move back to the UK and continue working in a similar field.

Sarah has worked in the NHS for over 16 years in various administrator and personal assistant roles.

Sarah provides PA support to the joint Directors of TVWLA; Maggie Woods and Alison Jennings and fully supports the TVWLA team with corporate administration. She has an NVQ Level 4 diploma in Business and Administration.

Jayne Beresford

Jayne is a Business Psychologist who has worked for many years as an Organisation Development (OD) consultant in a number of contexts across the public and private sector. She has led major culture change programmes alongside leadership development programmes and other consultancy projects to enable teams, individuals and organisations to move through change and complexity.

Jayne joined TVWLA in 2018 and leads on inclusion where she works with individuals and organisations to develop and enable more equal, inclusive practices and cultures and brings together our inclusion network to inspire and support others championing inclusive communities across our region. She also leads on our OD practice, working with organisations and practitioners to build the capability and OD mindset of leaders to drive culture change and transformation through system leadership.

Jayne is also an experienced coach, accredited in a number of psychometric tools and believes strongly in empowering others through data-driven insights to enable leaders to drive the cultures of inclusion and compassion that we believe in.

Renata joined the TVW LA and KSS LA as a Stakeholder and Engagement Officer in April 2019. Renata has a degree in Marketing and Strategic Management and is very passionate about learning. Renata has spent most of her professional life working in organisations that empower and enable people of all ages and backgrounds to learn new skills and to fulfil their potential. 

Helen Edmunds

Helen has worked for the NHS over the past 10 years, in organisational development, clinical education and senior leadership roles, for an ambulance service and an integrated acute / community trust, before moving to the NHS Leadership Academy (KSS / TVW) in February 2019.

Helen leads on systems leadership in her role at the Leadership Academy, working with networks of leaders to connect them, drive forwards inclusive and compassionate leadership and develop systems leaders who are passionate about improving themselves and their teams to deliver high quality care to patients / service users.

Helen is also the lead across the South East region for the Graduate Management Training Scheme. With the expansion of the scheme, Helen’s focus is to work with and support placement provider organisations across the region to ensure trainees get the best experience at the start of their NHS career journey.

Helen is accredited in a number of psychometric instruments and an experienced 360 degree feedback facilitator and is always keen to work with leaders to explore their strengths and how to use these effectively in their work.

Helen is currently studying for her MBA and is enjoying the experience of being able to critically analyse theory when putting this into practice in her workplace.
